Do You Have Warm or Cool Undertones?

Wondering if you’re cool or warmed tone is a question that I get a lot, and that can affect what colors of makeup look best on you. Guess what – it’s so simple to tell!

Surface (Ivory, light, medium tan, dark) and undertones are two different things. I can have the same skin color as someone else, but we may have different undertones.

Cool (Pink, red, or bluish undertones)
Warm (Yellow, peachy, golden undertones)
Neutral (a mix of warm and cool undertones) ✋ This is me

There are a few ways to tell which you are. Jewelry is one of the harder ways to tell, as many can pull off both gold and silver and they look equally good.

– Check your veins on the inside of your wrist – are they blue or green? If they are more blue you’re probably cool, if they look green they’re warm. If you have both you’re neutral.
– What color jewelry looks best on you? Not which do you like more, but what one actually looks better? Girls with cool undertones look better in silver and platinum metals, and warm-toned look better in gold
– Eye and Hair Color, customarily cool toned people have eyes that are blue, gray, or green and have blond, brown, or black hair with blue, silver, violet and ash undertones. Warm-toned women usually have brown, amber or hazel eyes along with strawberry blond, red, brown, or black hair, with a gold, red, orange, or yellow undertone.
– Do you tan or burn? If your sun turns golden-brown you’re warm-toned, if it burns and turns pink first you’re cool toned.

**It’s most helpful to do these in natural light**
