Splish Splash, Taking a Bath

A used to hate baths more than pretty much anything. She’d cry and squirm and just turn into this huge grump as soon as she realized what was coming – bathtime. Over the last few months that has changed, which has been amazing, because there’s nothing more adorable then chunky baby legs kicking and splashing in the tub.

She also used to hate any and all bath toys offered, but now she is obsessed with her rubber ducky. If that things falls out of her mouth, and out of her reach, she’ll kick and splash to try and reach it, then after a few minutes, huge crocodile tears and screams, but once that rubber ducky is back in her mouth she’s as happy as can be.

She loves that bath so much now she’ll stay in there until the water is barely warm, just yelling, laughing, and splashing away. The dogs stand eagerly outside the bathroom door watching, because they all love baths too. At first they used to try to jump in and join her, but now they know they aren’t allowed in the bathroom when she’s in there.

She is growing up so fast, it’s hard to believe we were snuggling her as a newborn 6 months ago. How did she get so big? And why does time suddenly speed up faster than ever once you have kids? I just want her to slow down a bit so I can take in more of these moments.

Her little thighs are already too chunky to fit in her bumbo, next thing you know she’ll be sitting all by herself in the tub, walking, running, everything. I love, love, love watching her grow and discover new things, but just wish I could stop time for a bit.
